Trail during the warm days of summer highs are in the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 40's while South Fork Cottonwood Trail nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 30's. Hiking here
in the Klamath Mountains is the best way to enjoy these summits. South Fork Cottonwood Trail is 37.6 miles long; it's a long backpacking trail. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This neighborhood does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions

Briefly about the general area: There's some flowing water close by, Harvey Creek is a stream you can explore during your stay; a pleasant visit to Syd Cabin Glade is a good way to spend an afternoon.
So many fun things to do in the Klamath Mountains, not enough time. Sulphur Spring is a glorious local attraction, and drift down the rapids of Cottonwood Creek - Middle Fork in a kayak. Why not camp at Wells Creek Campground while you're here at South Fork Cottonwood Trail;
Cox Glade is a tremendous site to stretch your legs a bit. Lazyman Spring is always fun to check out, and let's not forget Buck Creek which is a stream that you may bump into while here. This site, the Klamath Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable stuff. A splendid site
to camp here at South Fork Cottonwood Trail is Tomhead Saddle Campground; paddling on Beegum Creek is so much fun. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Near South Fork Cottonwood Trail you come across glorious spots like Long Gulch, and since you're here you ought to go to Walker Point.
