All through the winter the highs are frequently in the 50's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Pacific Crest Trail - section 8 temperatures dip to the 30's. While visiting this area in California it's a good idea to go backcountry backpacking too. This neighborhood does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire.

You truly have to love Pacific Crest Trail - section 8. Put some time aside to spend at Bear Spring while you're here at Pacific Crest Trail - section 8; camping is available at Cypress Resorts. You simply have to fancy the Sierra Madre. Big Oak Spring is a pleasant local attraction.
Pacific Crest Trail - section 8 is close to Acton Canyon which is absolutely worth going to, and not far from here you can enjoy the trees of Angeles National Forest. These mountains rock, just explore all the entertaining stuff to do in the Sierra Madre. Don’t forget to check out Blanchard Debris Basin since you're here at Pacific Crest Trail - section 8; some close by water includes Alder Creek. Taking a little journey to close by Bisker is a great idea, and Anaverde Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth checking out.
