Windy Trail is a location that is relatively dehydrated generally; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow, and the driest month of the year is July. Here in the nice state of Washington backcountry backpacking is something that is always fun to do. Sometimes
this hiking trail gets really dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Windy Trail is 18.4 miles long; it's considered a longer backcountry walk. The total elevation difference for Windy Trail is 2,851 feet which is a higher than average number.
Of course, this is an overnight backcountry trek, 3 days normally, so it's a great thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job.

day at, Iron Gate Campground is a pleasant local campground. If you love the outdoors you'll love it here in the Northern Cascade Range. A trip to Pick Pocket invigorates the spirit, and do have a look at Wildhorse Creek while you're here at Windy Trail. It's always pleasant
to go to Chewack Falls, and don't forget to take a glorious little visit to Sunny Creek. This place, the Northern Cascade Range, has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll have a thing about Windy Trail. Whitewater paddling is good on
Chewuch River; get wet paddling on Chewuch River. There's so much to do here at Windy Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Long Swamp Campground is a good spot for that, and if you crave a little side spree, try Horseshoe Pass.
