Trail with overnight lows in the 40's. For the duration of the winter this location gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Union Creek Trail are in the 20's. Union Creek Trail is very far from the nearest large city, and it's one of those places where backcountry
hiking is pleasant. This is a two-ended hiking trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can trek it just one way. Being 15.8 miles long; it's longer than many backpacking and hiking trails.

for whitewater paddling close to Union Creek Trail is Chinook Creek, and Barnard Saddle is a great place to spend some time. A pleasant trip to Lake Basin is a magnificent way to spend an afternoon; you can run the rapids of American River.

Creek, it's in the vicinity of Union Creek Trail, and Cement Basin is a charming site any time of year. Now, you may think that's heaps but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. Union Creek Trail is a wonderful spot to visit for more than one
day, Lodgepole Campground is a wonderful spot to camp nearby, and do put some time aside to spend at Union Creek Falls while you're here at Union Creek Trail. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! The Northern Cascade Range is unbeatable!.
