current restrictions or closures before you go. Keep in mind that this is a long great outdoors hiking trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Throughout the long summer days at Twin Sisters Trail temperatures are ordinarily in the 60's with overnight lows in the 40's.
Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Twin Sisters Trail are in the 10's. There's not much difference in elevation along the great outdoors trail which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. The time needed for
this hike is roughly 6.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.
Briefly about the general area: Camping is available at Knuppenburg Lake Campground, and if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater
paddling on American River. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. This is such a great river. Some close by water includes Red Rock Creek; if you fancy a little side spree, try Mosquito Valley. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors just come on up to
the Northern Cascade Range. Sheller Creek is right next door to Twin Sisters Trail and is always a joy to check out, and Summit Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. A splendid site to camp here at Twin Sisters Trail is White Pass Campground, and everybody loves Blankenship Meadows.
