Tunnel Trail has two trailheads which means you have the option of backcountry trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. about different climate zones along your hike. Tunnel Trail is a mid-length hiking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a glorious hiking trail for experienced backcountry walkers in wonderful shape. Backpacking here in the Northern Cascade Range is a really
perfect way to spend quality time in nature. Tunnel Trail gets very little precipitation; during the month of December you get the most snow around here; the driest of the months is July. This is a neighborhood covered with lots of hiking trails. Through the summer months here
at Tunnel Trail, high temperatures commonly get into the 80's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Tunnel Trail dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. Don’t forget to check for any current
restrictions or closures before you go.
Briefly about the general area: Just can't get enough of the Northern Cascade Range. Do set aside some time for Salmon Meadows while you're here at Tunnel Trail, and Salmon Falls is an inspiring site to go to during your stay.
Don't forget to take a great little spree to Clark Creek. There's so much to do here at Tunnel Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Salmon Meadows Campground is a great place for that. Visit Scheiner Creek since you're here at Tunnel Trail, and Tunnel Trail is pleasant
enough to spend more than a day at, Alder Campground is a pleasant local campground. If you come at the right time of year, Chewuch River offers some splendid whitewater; close by you hit upon splendid places like Pelican Pass. So much enjoyable stuff in the neighborhood of Tunnel Trail, truly phenomenal. While you're here at Tunnel Trail it's a great idea to stop at Whistler Basin.
