of uphill miles which makes it a splendid backcountry trail for experienced backcountry trekkers in tremendous shape. Here in Washington backcountry backpacking is something that is always fun to do. This wilderness trail has only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to backcountry
walk it normally. This walk shouldn't take more than 7 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.
Briefly about the general area: You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things at Three Peaks
Trail. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can stop by Packwood Dam. There's so much to do here at Three Peaks Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Hatchery RV Campground is a good location for that. This spot, the Northern Cascade Range, has so much outdoors
amusing things. It's a tremendous idea to explore Lost Creek, it's close to Three Peaks Trail, and you can stay the night at Palisades Campground. Get drenched paddling on Cowlitz River - Clear Fork; Mount Rainier National Park is a wonderful local destination. A quick trip to Upper Lake Creek in the neighborhood of Three Peaks Trail is a glorious idea; soar down the rapids of Summit Creek in a kayak.
