Swamp Lake Trail is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Lodgepole Campground is a magnificent local campground,
and paddling on American River is so much fun. There's so much to do here at Swamp Lake Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Morse Creek Campground is a tremendous site for that, and why not a little side visit to Cougar Creek.
That right there is loads of entertaining
stuff already but it goes on, the Northern Cascade Range has it all. Big Basin is a great place to check out; get dripping wet paddling on Chinook Creek. Red Rock Creek is a good site to explore.
