    wettest month of the year is ordinarily January, that's the one that rains the most; July meanwhile is the driest month. Being 7.2 miles long it's a mid length walk. You should count on this backcountry walk taking about 6 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some
a bit faster. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Swamp Lake Trail. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this site gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Swamp Lake Trail dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. This backpacking and hiking trail is a normal length backpacking and hiking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this backpacking and hiking trail good for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. This is a backpacking trail that is quite  
long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. There are so many backpacking and hiking trails in this region. Hiking trails for backpacking, and backpacking can be found all over Washington, and Swamp Lake Trail is one of them, and it's in Yakima County. Backcountry hiking here in the Northern Cascade Range is an outstanding way to explore these summits. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. This is a one trailhead great outdoors hiking trail, so you'll be backcountry backpacking it in and back out. Every Washington great outdoors trail is worth backpacking. Some parts of this hiking and backpacking trail are much higher up than other parts of the hiking and backpacking trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the hiking and backpacking trail.

Briefly about the general area:
Yeah, come up here to the Northern Cascade Range for a magnificent time. Do set aside some time for Big Basin while you're here at Swamp Lake Trail, and Swamp Lake Trail is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Morse Creek Campground is a magnificent local campground. Take a little tour to Cougar Creek since you're here at Swamp Lake Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, American River offers some tremendous whitewater.
There are some great whitewater spots on Chinook Creek. Red Rock Creek is in the neighborhood of Swamp Lake Trail and is always a bliss to check out, and camping at Lodgepole Campground is always a magnificent experience.
