    Trail is a very long backpacking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a wonderful wilderness hiking trail for experienced trekkers in pleasant shape. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Summit Lake Trail has a total elevation difference
of 1,322 feet which is about average. For the duration of the warm months at Summit Lake Trail highs are usually in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Summit Lake Trail are in the 30's. When you're here in Washington backcountry hiking along one of its backcountry trails is a glorious way to spend some time. Summit Lake Trail is a wet place that gets lots of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November; July on the other hand  
is the driest. Summit Lake Trail is 10.2 miles long; it's longer than many wilderness trails. Each backcountry trail in Washington is scenic in its own way. This trail has two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can walk it just one way. These backpacking trails here in the Northern Cascade Range are the best way to enjoy these summits. This backcountry walk shouldn't take more than 9 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. This is one of many wilderness hiking trails in the surrounding region. You spend the whole backcountry trek in roughly the same elevation zone which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish.

Briefly about the general area:
A visit to Summit Lake Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Chenuis Falls; a quick trip to McGilvery Creek is without doubt a glorious idea. This spot is so good, just check out all the entertaining stuff to do near Summit Lake Trail. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Ranger Falls, and a spree to Celery Meadow rejuvenates the soul.
Having a glorious time in the Northern Cascade Range is simple. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Clearwater River - White River Tributary; needless to say Test Creek flows through this neighborhood. Hurricane Gap is a tremendous spot to visit close to Summit Lake Trail; Bee Flat is right here at Summit Lake Trail. Whitewater paddling is fine on White River, and Summit Lake Trail is a pleasant location to visit for more than one day, Ipsut Creek Campground is a pleasant location to camp nearby.
But wait, there's more exciting things to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Stay the night at Cougar Rock Campground, and Mount Rainier National Park is one of the destinations that are pleasant to take a look at nearby.
