short backpacking and hiking trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a tremendous backcountry hiking trail for the average person looking for a tremendous adventure. The number of backcountry hiking trails in this vicinity is not very high. The backpacking
and hiking trails of the Northern Cascade Range are a magnificent way to explore these mountains. The time needed for this backcountry trek is roughly 3.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. The warmest time of the year at Sulphur Mountain Way
arrives with high temperatures in the 70's; the nighttime is somewhat cooler of course, ordinarily in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's while Sulphur Mountain Way nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 30's. This backpacking trail has only one
trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out walk.
Briefly about the general area:
You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the Northern Cascade Range has to offer. Downey Creek Campground is a good local campground, and since you're here, you could
have a look at Sulphur Creek. Downey Creek is a good whitewater spot next to Sulphur Mountain Way; why not go to nearby Milk Creek if you're here at Sulphur Mountain Way.
If you came for an overnight stay Sulphur Creek Campground is a perfect spot to camp, and a short trip to Sulphur Hot Springs is always worthwhile.
