Washington hiking trails - Storm King Trail, Ferry County

    trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. During the warm months here at Storm King Trail, high temperatures generally reach the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows at Storm King Trail through the
wintertime commonly plunge into the 10's. Storm King Trail gets very little rain; through December this vicinity sees the most snow, and the driest month of the year is October. This hike should take you about 1.5 days, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. This neighborhood does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Storm King Trail being so distant from the most adjacent urban center, it is a great escape from the urban center. With  
its 10.6 miles of walking distance; it's a long hiking trail. Here in Washington backcountry backpacking never gets boring. Keep in mind that this is a long great outdoors hiking trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Some parts of Storm King Trail are much higher up than other parts of the hiking trail, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. There are so many wilderness trails in this vicinity. This wilderness hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 1,620 feet which is an average number. The length of this wilderness hiking trail is on the longer side having an average number of uphill miles which makes this wilderness trail glorious for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Storm King Trail is a two ended wilderness hiking trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of hiking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end.

Briefly about the general area:
Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area is a good place in close proximity to Storm King Trail, and don't forget to take a good little visit to North Fork Granite Creek.
Camping is available at Sweat Creek Campground; of course West Fork Granite Creek is a lovely stream that is worth visiting. Why not camp at Tiffany's Resort if you're here at Storm King Trail; Cargo Spring is always fun to check out.
