With its 10.6 miles of walking distance; it's longer than many trails. During the days of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Storm King Trail. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's; nighttime lows through the winter for Storm King Trail tend to be in the 10's.

Briefly about the general area:
A trip to Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area is worthwhile, and naturally North Fork Granite Creek is a scenic stream that is worth checking out.
If you came to camp Sweat Creek Campground is a great place to do that, and Storm King Trail is good enough to spend more than a day at, Tiffany's Resort is a good local campground. Cargo Spring is a perfect local attraction, and why not a little side spree to West Fork Granite Creek.
