  Washington has plenty of great wilderness hiking trails, and one of these is South Sand Point Trail in Clallam County. Every wilderness hiking trail in Washington has its own character. Many miles from the closest settlement you have South Sand Point Trail, and It's always amusing to backcountry trek here. Here in Washington hiking never gets boring. You should count on this walk taking about 3.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. At South Sand Point Trail during the long summer days highs are
    in the 60's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. During the wintertime highs are frequently in the 40's, and night lows during the wintertime for South Sand Point Trail tend to be in the 30's. This is one of a very small number of great outdoors trails in this neighborhood.
There's not much difference in elevation along the wilderness hiking trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your backcountry hike. Washington is a brilliant spot for outdoors people. The wonderful backpacking and hiking trails of the Olympic Mountains are a brilliant way to explore these summits. South Sand Point Trail frequently gets much rain; the wettest month of the year is mostly December, that's the one that rains the most while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This is a one trailhead trail,  
so you'll be backpacking it in and back out. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. This backpacking and hiking trail is on the short side having an average number of uphill miles which makes this great outdoors trail good for the average backcountry hiker looking for an enjoyable adventure. This trail has a total elevation difference of 189 feet which is a lower than average number. With its 3.8 miles of walking distance it's a short wilderness hiking trail. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, South Sand Point Trail in Clallam County, Washington is the wilderness at its best. Even though this is not a very long backpacking trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens.

Briefly about the general area:
Wish Creek is a pleasant place to stop by; Blooms Bay is close at hand and always brilliant to explore. Man, is there a heap of entertaining things to do in the Olympic Mountains. If you want to hit the beach, Yellow Banks is close at hand; South Sand Point Trail is nice enough to spend more than a day at, The Lost Resort is a nice local campground.
This river is always fun. Kayostia Beach is right next door to South Sand Point Trail if you're in a beach type of mood. There's so much to do here at South Sand Point Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Ericksons Bay Campground is a good place for that.
