Washington hiking trails - South Asotin Trail, Blue Mountains, Asotin County

   
  Every backcountry hiking trail in Washington is well worth a backcountry hike. Finally, backcountry trekking time is here again, and South Asotin Trail in Asotin County, Washington is the great outdoors at its best. Here in Washington hiking is always an exciting thing to do. South Asotin Trail is not very in close proximity to Lewiston at all, but when you hike it you're always having a good time. Summer at South Asotin Trail comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and the overnight is rather cooler of course, regularly in the 50's. The cold days
    of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at South Asotin Trail. Washington is a good outdoors state. Being 2.2 miles long it's a shorter type trek. South Asotin Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which
means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. This backpacking trail has a total elevation difference of 1,041 feet which is an average number. There are many great backcountry hiking trails in Washington; South Asotin Trail in Asotin County is one of them. This is one of a very small number of trails in this neighborhood. This backpacking trail has two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can walk it just one way. This walk shouldn't take more than 2 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster.  
Hiking and backpacking trails like this one here in the Blue Mountains are a very perfect way to see these mountains. This vicinity does get very dry sometimes, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Even though this is not a very long great outdoors hiking trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. South Asotin Trail is a very short trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a perfect trail for the average person looking for a perfect adventure. Not much rainfall falls here at South Asotin Trail; the month with most of the rain is January while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

Briefly about the general area:
Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Blue Mountains. Stay the night at Misery Spring Campground. South Asotin Trail is a nice place to visit for more than one day, Wickiup Campground is a nice place to camp nearby, and a short trip to Park Spring is always worthwhile.
