  Washington has plenty of fine backpacking and hiking trails, and among these are Slick Ear Trail in Columbia County.     has a total elevation difference of 2,581 feet which is a higher than average number. Slick Ear Trail is a long tour away from La Grande, but It's always amusing to hike here. This is a one trailhead backcountry hiking trail, so in and out is the way to backcountry walk it normally.
This is a long trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. All through the summer months, highs typically are in the 80's at Slick Ear Trail, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's while Slick Ear Trail nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 20's. Each one of the many backpacking and hiking trails of Washington is delightful in its own way. This is a neighborhood covered with lots of wilderness hiking trails. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions  
in site. Slick Ear Trail is a trail of delightful length with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this wilderness hiking trail good for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Now, this is roughly a 3-day backcountry walk, so it's an excellent thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. With its 19.4 miles of walking distance; it's a long hiking trail. Slick Ear Trail goes through some very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. As long as you like the outdoors you will like Washington. From a rain point of view Slick Ear Trail is a reasonably typical site; the month with most of the rain is November, and July on the other hand is the driest. The wonderful trails of the Blue Mountains are a really delightful way to spend quality time in the outdoors.

Near Slick Ear Trail you discover Cougar Canyon which is a nice place to check out, and why not camp at Godman Campground if you're here at Slick Ear Trail.
Yeah, come here to Slick Ear Trail for a good time. Places like Burnt Flat are good to check out; if you come at the right time of year, Grande Ronde River offers some good whitewater. Put some time aside to spend at Dexter Spring while you're here at Slick Ear Trail, and a brilliant spot to camp here at Slick Ear Trail is Bear Canyon Campground. Zuger Spring is a wonderful local attraction; since you're here, you could stop at Beaver Creek.
Elk Flat is a delightful site any time of year, and it's a good idea to go to Beaver Creek.
