Washington hiking trails - Slick Ear Trail, Blue Mountains, Columbia County

   
  Trekking here in Washington never gets boring. Each trail in Washington has its own unique beauty. Trails are great and plentiful in Washington, and one of those is Slick Ear Trail in Columbia County. Slick Ear Trail is quite long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This is a one trailhead hiking trail, so you'll be trekking it in and back out. From a precipitation point of view Slick Ear Trail is a quite normal place; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and July
    is the month with the least moisture. This is just one of a large number of backpacking and hiking trails in this vicinity. Now, this is roughly a 3-day walk, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. Being 19.4 miles long; it's considered a longer hike. Slick Ear
Trail is not very in the neighborhood of La Grande at all, but it is a perfect getaway from the town. This backcountry trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the backcountry trail could be very different from other parts of it. This backpacking trail is many miles long having an average number of uphill miles which makes it an excellent backpacking and hiking trail for experienced backcountry hikers in great shape. While visiting this area in Washington it's a good idea to go backcountry trekking too. Alright,  
enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Slick Ear Trail in Columbia County, Washington is just what you need. At Slick Ear Trail throughout the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and nighttime lows at Slick Ear Trail during the winter ordinarily plunge into the 20's. The total elevation difference for Slick Ear Trail is 2,581 feet which is higher than average. This backpacking trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. The backpacking trails of the Blue Mountains are a good way to explore these mountains.

Briefly about the general area:
Burnt Flat is right here at Slick Ear Trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Grande Ronde River. And that's not all you can do here at Slick Ear Trail. It's a perfect idea to stop by Beaver Creek, it's near Slick Ear Trail, and Cougar Canyon is around here, and is a nice place.
That right there is loads of cool things already but it goes on, the Blue Mountains has it all. Be careful coming to the Blue Mountains, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Godman Campground is a great campground nearby; why not take a look at close by Beaver Creek while you're here at Slick Ear Trail. If you came for an overnight stay Bear Canyon Campground is a wonderful site to camp; a journey to Dexter Spring will fill your spirit with fine feelings.
A visit to Elk Flat rejuvenates the soul, and do put some time aside to spend at Zuger Spring if you're here at Slick Ear Trail.
