Washington hiking trails - Siouxon Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Skamania County

   
  Washington is a magnificent place for backcountry trekkers. There are hiking trails all over Washington, and one of these is Siouxon Trail in Skamania County. Backcountry hiking here in Washington is a great idea. Different parts of this hiking trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the hiking trail. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while, and Siouxon Trail in Skamania County, Washington is the outdoors at its best. Siouxon Trail
    is positioned a relatively long drive from Hood River, but it sure is a a perfect backcountry trail. This is a two-ended wilderness trail with two trailheads which means you have the option of hiking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. The length of
Siouxon Trail is on the longer side having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough trail for advanced walkers looking for an excellent challenge. Each hiking trail in Washington is well worth a backcountry walk. Summer at Siouxon Trail comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Siouxon Trail are in the 30's. Hiking and backpacking trails like this one here in the Northern Cascade Range  
are the best way to enjoy these summits. This is an area covered with lots of trails. Siouxon Trail sees pretty high levels of rainfall; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Siouxon Trail is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Being 9.6 miles long; it's considered a longer trek. The total elevation difference for Siouxon Trail is 1,860 feet, and that is about average. You should count on this backcountry trek taking about 8.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.

There's so much to do here at Siouxon Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Canyon Creek Campground is a splendid spot for that, and don't forget to take a good little journey to Horseshoe Creek.
Why not check out close by Wildcat Creek since you're here at Siouxon Trail; Siouxon Creek has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Siouxon Trail is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Observation Berryfield Campground is a pleasant local campground; whitewater paddling is great on Canyon Creek - Lewis River Tributary.
