Washington hiking trails - Sawtooth Trail, Blue Mountains, Columbia County

   
  Every Washington great outdoors trail is different from the others. Washington is a splendid place for outdoors folks. Time to get out, and breathe some fresh air, and if you happen to be in Columbia County of Washington, Sawtooth Trail is an excellent local great outdoors trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Of course, this is an overnight walk, 4 days normally, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. Sometimes this wilderness trail gets really dry, so don’t forget to check for any current fire restrictions before you go. Being 26.6
    miles long; it's longer than many trails. For the period of the warm months at Sawtooth Trail temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. During the wintertime this location gets highs in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime
at Sawtooth Trail temperatures dip to the 20's. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so hiking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Some parts of this trail are much higher up than other parts of the trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the trail. This is a vicinity covered with lots of backpacking trails. The annual precipitation here at Sawtooth Trail is about average; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain; July meanwhile  
is the driest month. This backcountry hiking trail is a very long backcountry hiking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough backpacking trail for advanced hikers looking for an outstanding challenge. Sawtooth Trail has a total elevation difference of 3,580 feet which is a higher than average number. Backpacking and hiking trails are great and plentiful in Washington; one of them being Sawtooth Trail in Columbia County. Keep in mind that this is a long wilderness trail, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. The backcountry hiking trails of the Blue Mountains are a splendid way to explore these peaks. Sawtooth Trail is a great outdoors trail quite far from La Grande, but if you're looking for an excellent location to go backcountry hiking, this is an excellent choice. When you're here in Washington backcountry trekking along one of its great outdoors trails is the great thing to do.

Briefly about the general area:
If you came for an overnight stay Godman Campground is a nice spot to camp, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Lady Spring. Elk Flat is a glorious place here at Sawtooth Trail; there's some flowing water nearby, North Fork Wenaha River is a stream you can go to while you're here.
And that's not everything you can do here in the Blue Mountains. So many exciting things in the Blue Mountains, just mind-boggling. Glide down the rapids of Grande Ronde River in a kayak, and a tremendous place to pop by is Cougar Canyon. Burnt Flat is right here at Sawtooth Trail, and a trip to Sawtooth Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Dexter Spring.
You absolutely must fancy Sawtooth Trail. Bear Canyon Campground is a great campground nearby, and Elk Creek is right next door to Sawtooth Trail and is always a pleasure to have a look at.
