Washington hiking trails - Sawtooth Trail, Blue Mountains, Columbia County

   
  There are many brilliant hiking and backpacking trails in Washington; one of them being Sawtooth Trail in Columbia County. Going for a hike here in Washington is an excellent idea. Hitting the hiking and backpacking trails is always a cool thing to do, and Sawtooth Trail in Columbia County, Washington is just the place. There are plenty of hiking and backpacking trails in Washington; each one of them is different from the others. At Sawtooth Trail through the summertime months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Throughout
    the winter the highs are regularly in the 30's; nighttime lows in the 20's for Sawtooth Trail. Being 26.6 miles long; it's longer than many wilderness hiking trails. Outdoors folks generally like this part of Washington. Sawtooth Trail has two trailheads, so hiking it one way is
an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Backcountry hiking trails like this one here in the Blue Mountains are a very great way to see these summits. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. The length of this backcountry trail is on the longer side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this trail magnificent for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Sawtooth Trail has a total elevation difference of 3,580 feet which is a higher than average number. There are so many trails in this vicinity. At parts of the  
year this vicinity sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. The amount of precipitation that falls at Sawtooth Trail is close to the national average; the month with most of the rain is November, and July is the month with the least moisture. Sawtooth Trail is quite long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. Sawtooth Trail is a hiking and backpacking trail quite far from La Grande, but if you're looking for a tremendous place to go backcountry hiking, this is a tremendous choice. This wilderness hiking trail goes through some very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the wilderness hiking trail. Now, this is roughly a 4-day backcountry hike, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need.

Briefly about the general area:
Grande Ronde River is a great whitewater spot next to Sawtooth Trail; getting to North Fork Wenaha River from Sawtooth Trail is uncomplicated. Don't leave Sawtooth Trail without first paying a visit to Lady Spring. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Sawtooth Trail has to offer, you can camp at Godman Campground.
So much enjoyable stuff in the Blue Mountains, just unbelievable. Sawtooth Trail really is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. There's so much to do here at Sawtooth Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Bear Canyon Campground is a great spot for that, and a pleasant tour to Elk Flat is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. While staying at Sawtooth Trail you could always look at Cougar Canyon, and while you're here at Sawtooth Trail it's a great idea to pop by Burnt Flat.
