close by is Cle Elum Ranger District. These mountains rock, just check out all the cool stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. A pleasant journey to French Cabin Basin is a fine way to spend an afternoon, and Number 3 Canyon is without doubt a glorious site to have a look at.
If you came for an overnight stay Red Mountain Campground is a good site to camp, and do put some time aside to spend at Salmon la Sac if you're here at Sasse Mountain Trail.
