Washington hiking trails - Ridge Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Skamania County

   
  There are so many great backcountry trails for backcountry backpacking in Washington, and one of these is Ridge Trail in Skamania County. Gotta get out of the settlement man, and Ridge Trail in Skamania County, Washington is a tremendous pick. There are plenty of backcountry trails in Washington; each one of them is different from the others. This backcountry trail is a mid length backcountry trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough great outdoors hiking trail for advanced backcountry trekkers looking for an excellent challenge.
    At Ridge Trail during the months of summer highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's, and night lows at Ridge Trail throughout the winter regularly drop into the 30's. The beautiful backcountry
trails of the Northern Cascade Range are a really great way to spend quality time in the outdoors. You should count on this walk taking about 5.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. There are so many great outdoors hiking trails in this vicinity. Being 6 miles long it's an average length backcountry trail. This trail has two trailheads, so trekking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Going for a backcountry trek here in Washington is the great thing to do. Ridge Trail gets lots of water; the month  
with most of the rain is December, and the driest month of the year is July. This part of Washington has a nice deal of available outdoors things to do. A long tour separates Hood River from Ridge Trail, but what a tremendous location for backcountry hiking it is. The total elevation difference for Ridge Trail is 773 feet, and that is lower than average. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Ridge Trail is not that long but it's always glorious to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. You spend the whole backcountry trek in roughly the same elevation zone which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish.

You're sure to come across some smiling people from Hood River here, and if you came for an overnight stay Forlorn Lakes Campground is a perfect place to camp. Man, is there a heap of exciting stuff to do in the neighborhood of Ridge Trail. Getting to North Fork Curley Creek from Ridge Trail is simple.
Camping is available at Curly Creek Campground, and some nearby water includes Oldman Creek. McClellan Meadows is a scenic spot any time of year; glide down the rapids of Lewis River - North Fork in a kayak. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Pete Gulch is a pleasant place to explore nearby; get dripping wet paddling on Rush Creek.
