Washington hiking trails - Ridge Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Skamania County

   
  It's a long journey from Hood River to Ridge Trail, but it is a really magnificent great outdoors trail. Here in Washington backcountry backpacking never gets boring. Hey, time for a backcountry hike don’t you think? Ridge Trail in Skamania County, Washington is just the place. Ridge Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole backpacking trail. Ridge Trail is a two ended backpacking trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry hike
    it just one way. With its 6 miles of walking distance it's an average length backpacking trail. Ridge Trail is a rather wet spot commonly with much rain; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. These trails here
in the Northern Cascade Range are a very pleasant way to see these summits. This trail is a mid length trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a fine hiking trail for experienced walkers in wonderful shape. The total elevation difference for this backpacking trail is 773 feet which is a lower than average number. Great outdoors hiking trails for backcountry backpacking, and backpacking can be found all over Washington, and one of those is Ridge Trail in Skamania County. This is just one of a large number of hiking trails in this vicinity.  
You should count on this trek taking about 5.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Through the summer months at Ridge Trail temperatures are frequently in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Ridge Trail temperatures descend to the 30's. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. There are plenty of backcountry hiking trails in Washington; each one of them is worth backcountry backpacking. Outdoors people generally like this part of Washington. This backpacking trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens.

Briefly about the general area:
Having a good time in the Northern Cascade Range is easy. If you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rush Creek, and some close by water includes Oldman Creek. Camping is available at Curly Creek Campground; close by you stumble on wonderful places like Pete Gulch.
Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! Ridge Trail is great!. Everybody loves McClellan Meadows, and Lewis River - North Fork has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby. Getting to North Fork Curley Creek from Ridge Trail is uncomplicated, and why not camp at Forlorn Lakes Campground since you're here at Ridge Trail.
