Washington hiking trails - Ridge Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Skamania County

   
  There are hiking trails all over Washington, and one of these is Ridge Trail in Skamania County. Alright, enough of spending all this time inside a building, time to get out, and Ridge Trail in Skamania County, Washington is a splendid location for getting out. With so many outdoors pastimes available in Washington you'll never get bored. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. It's a long trip from Hood River to Ridge Trail, but when you backcountry trek it you're always having a splendid time. The time needed for this backcountry trek is roughly
    5.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. The total elevation difference for this backcountry hiking trail is 773 feet which is a lower than average number. This is a vicinity covered with lots of backpacking trails. Ridge Trail has two trailheads
which means you have the option of backcountry hiking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. With its 6 miles of walking distance it's a mid length trek. This is not a very long hiking and backpacking trail but it's always delightful to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. There's not much difference in elevation along Ridge Trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your trek. Throughout the summertime months, highs generally are in the 70's at Ridge Trail, and the night is a  
tad chillier of course, regularly in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Ridge Trail. The hiking trails of the Northern Cascade Range are a tremendous way to explore these mountains. Lots of rainfall falls at Ridge Trail; the month with most of the rain is December, and the driest month of the year is July. Ridge Trail is a mid-length hiking trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this backpacking trail wonderful for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Every Washington hiking trail has something unique to offer. When you're here in Washington backpacking along one of its hiking trails is a nice idea.

Briefly about the general area:
Looking for some flowing water? Try North Fork Curley Creek, and paddling on Lewis River - North Fork is so much fun. Whitewater paddling is great on Rush Creek; camping is available at Forlorn Lakes Campground.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. If you wish for a little side trip, try Pete Gulch. Take a little spree to Oldman Creek if you're here at Ridge Trail; a tremendous location to camp here at Ridge Trail is Curly Creek Campground. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! The Northern Cascade Range is so good! Don’t forget to pop by McClellan Meadows since you're here at Ridge Trail; the friendly people of Hood River like to hang out nearby.
