Briefly about the general area: Camping at Cougar Flat Campground is always a good experience, and Clover Spring is a charming spot to have a look at while you're at Richmond Mine Trail. If
you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Bumping River, and a short tour to Soda Springs is always worthwhile. Some nearby water includes Thunder Creek, and Carmelita Basin is a splendid spot here at Richmond Mine Trail. Now, you may feel that's
plenty but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Richmond Mine Trail. American River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot close by. Now, you may think that's a lot but there's even more entertaining things to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. Richmond Mine Trail
is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Bumping Crossing Campground is a fine local campground; Scab Creek is in the neighborhood of Richmond Mine Trail and is always a pleasure to check out.
