Washington hiking trails - Ray Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Okanogan County

   
  We all need to get out in the fresh air once in a while, and Ray Trail in Okanogan County, Washington is a really great site to spend some time. Far from society you discover Ray Trail, and if you're looking for an outstanding site to go trekking, this is an outstanding selection. A visit to Washington is not complete without some backcountry trekking. The total elevation difference for this wilderness hiking trail is 442 feet which is lower than average. Being 2 miles long it's a short wilderness hiking trail. Backpacking here in Washington is always a
    fun thing to do. This is a two-ended wilderness hiking trail with two trailheads, so trekking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. The wilderness hiking trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you get pretty much the same conditions
along the whole wilderness hiking trail. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This hiking trail is on the short side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a wonderful backcountry trail for the average person looking for a wonderful adventure. The number of backcountry trails in this neighborhood is not very high. The time needed for this walk is roughly 1.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Around Ray Trail you don’t get a lot of rainfall; of all the months  
in a year December is the one with the most snow, and July is when it's the driest. Throughout the summer at Ray Trail highs are usually in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. For the duration of the winter this site gets highs in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Ray Trail temperatures descend to the 10's. There are backcountry hiking trails all over Washington; Ray Trail is one of them, and it's in Okanogan County. This is not a very long hiking and backpacking trail but it's always delightful to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. Trekking here in the Northern Cascade Range is a really wonderful way to spend quality time in the fresh air. This hiking and backpacking trail sometimes gets very dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Each backcountry hiking trail in Washington is well worth a trek.

Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. Ray Trail is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Alder Campground is a wonderful local campground. A great location to camp here at Ray Trail is Kerr Campground, and a fine location to visit is Muckamuck Pass.
