Packwood Lake Trail during the summer highs are in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. All through the winter highs are mostly in the 30's; overnight lows during the winter for Packwood Lake Trail tend to be in the 20's. Packwood Lake Trail has only one trailhead,
so you're looking at an in and out hike. All the water falling down from the sky makes Packwood Lake Trail a wet site; through the month of January you get the most snow around here; July is the month with the least moisture. It's a long trip from Hood River to Packwood Lake Trail,
but it is an amusing location to backcountry trek.
Briefly about the general area: Places like Lily Basin are great to take a look at, and obviously Lost Creek is a striking stream that is worth stopping at. Grant Purcell Falls is a magnificent local attraction, and
Packwood Dam is a spot that is right next door to Packwood Lake Trail. So many amusing things to do here in the Northern Cascade Range, too great to be true. Big Bottom is in the neighborhood of Packwood Lake Trail and is without doubt a glorious place to stop at, and don't
forget to take a perfect little spree to Upper Lake Creek. River Bar Campground is a tremendous campground nearby, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Cowlitz River - Clear Fork. All year is a splendid time in the Northern Cascade
Range if you love the outdoors. Put some time aside to spend at Jennings Falls since you're here at Packwood Lake Trail. And that's not all you can do here at Packwood Lake Trail. There are some good whitewater spots on Cowlitz River, and Packwood Lake Trail is a splendid spot to visit for more than one day, Hatchery RV Campground is a splendid spot to camp nearby.
