Washington hiking trails - Oklahoma Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Skamania County

   
  Oklahoma Trail is a hiking trail quite far from Hood River, but many folks like to hike here to be near the fresh air. Washington is an outstanding place for outdoors people. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in the fresh air a bit, and Oklahoma Trail in Skamania County, Washington is an excellent location to go. Being 4.8 miles long it's an average length backpacking trail. Oklahoma Trail is a relatively wet place mostly with a great deal of rain; December is the wettest month with most snow, and July is when it's the driest. Oklahoma
    Trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. Nice trails in Washington are in abundance, and Oklahoma Trail in Skamania County is one of them. You should count on this hike taking about 4.5 hours, but you never know stuff
could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. There's not much difference in elevation along Oklahoma Trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your backcountry trek. This backcountry trail is a mid length backcountry trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this trail brilliant for the average backcountry walker looking for an exciting adventure. This hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 935 feet which is a lower than average number. The backcountry trails of the Northern  
Cascade Range are the best way to enjoy these mountaintops. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so backpacking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. If you happen to be in Washington, why not go trekking, it is so much fun. This is an area covered with lots of trails. There are plenty of trails in Washington; each one of them is different from the others. Summertime highs at Oklahoma Trail regularly tend to be in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Oklahoma Trail are in the 20's. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping.

Briefly about the general area:
If you want a delightful time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Cascade Range. Some nearby water includes Beetle Creek, and if you're dropping by from Hood River, you won't be the only one.
Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Little White Salmon River, and Oklahoma Trail is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Elk Meadows RV Park is a delightful local campground. Paddling on White Salmon River is so much fun. There's so much to do here at Oklahoma Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Ice Cave Campground is a good place for that.
