This great outdoors hiking trail has only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to hike it normally. Northern Loop Trail is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Of course, this is an overnight trek, 5 days normally, so it's a great thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. Being 32.2 miles long; it's considered a longer backcountry hike. Northern Loop Trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the backpacking and hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it.
