Washington hiking trails - Northern Loop Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Pierce County       In Washington you never run out of outdoors fun. No problem, Northern Loop Trail in Pierce County, Washington is an excellent selection. This is just one of a large number of backpacking and hiking trails in this area. This backcountry walk should take you about 5 days, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. During the long summer days at Northern Loop Trail highs are commonly in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures     plunge down into the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Northern Loop Trail temperatures plunge to the 30's. Northern Loop Trail goes through some very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. There is only one trailhead, so you'll be backpacking it in and back out. With its 32.2 miles of walking distance; it's considered a longer backcountry trek. The total elevation difference for Northern Loop Trail is 4,766 feet which is a higher than average number. Northern Loop Trail usually gets a good deal of precipitation; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is July. Hiking here in the Northern Cascade Range is a splendid way to explore these highlands. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. Briefly about the general area: Get yourself into a kayak and hit White River, and Lodi Creek is next to Northern Loop Trail and is always a joy to go to. Do set aside some time for Vernal Park if you're here at Northern Loop Trail, and there's some flowing water nearby, Granite Creek is a stream you can stop by while you're here. Near Northern Loop Trail you hit upon great spots like Windy Gap. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Northern Loop Trail is a good place to visit for more than one day, White River Campground is a good place to camp nearby, and Van Horn Falls is a magnificent local attraction. If you want a magnificent time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Cascade Range. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Northern Loop Trail has to offer, you can camp at Ipsut Creek Campground, and do put some time aside to spend at Garda Falls if you're here at Northern Loop Trail. A pleasant journey to Mosquito Flat is a perfect way to spend an afternoon, and not far from here you can enjoy the trees of Grove of the Patriarchs. Yep, outdoors fun things truly is abundant here in the Northern Cascade Range. If you come at the right time of year, Clearwater River - White River Tributary offers some brilliant whitewater; Scarface is not far at all.
