Washington hiking trails - North Summit Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Okanogan County       With so many outdoors activities available in Washington you'll never get bored. All through the warm days of summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at North Summit Trail; the nighttime is fairly chillier of course, frequently in the 40's. This backcountry trek shouldn't take more than 6.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Sometimes this trail gets really dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Keep in mind that this is a long trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. This trail has only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to hike it normally. This backpacking trail is a normal length backpacking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough wilderness hiking trail for advanced backcountry walkers looking for a great challenge. If you came for an overnight stay Tiffany Spring Campground is a great location to camp, and float down the rapids of Chewuch River in a kayak. It's a pleasant idea to check out Spur Creek, it's in the neighborhood of North Summit Trail, and Salmon Meadows Campground is a nice campground here.
