Mount Zion Trail has only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to hike it normally. Mount Zion Trail has a total elevation difference of 2,262 feet which is an average number. At parts of the year this neighborhood sees very little rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. Mount Zion Trail is quite long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. The time needed for this hike is roughly 7 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. With its 7.8 miles of walking distance it's a mid length backcountry walk. Some parts of this backpacking trail are much higher up than other parts of the backpacking trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the backpacking trail.
