of uphill miles which makes this a very tough great outdoors hiking trail for advanced backcountry walkers looking for a fine challenge. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in location. Some parts of Mount Defiance Trail are much higher up than other parts of the hiking and backpacking trail, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. There are so many nice great outdoors trails for backcountry trekking in Washington, and Mount Defiance Trail in King County is one of them. Hiking trails

During the long summer days here at Mount Defiance Trail, high temperatures usually reach the 70's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter highs are typically in the 40's; through the dark hours in the winter at Mount Defiance Trail temperatures drop to the 30's. Mount Defiance Trail is quite long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. Going for a backcountry walk here in Washington is a great idea. The total elevation difference for Mount Defiance Trail is 1,672 feet, and that is about average. Mount Defiance Trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out walk.

Now, you may imagine that's a lot but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Mount Defiance Trail. Nor'west Motel and RV Park is a good campground nearby; there are some fine whitewater spots on Snoqualmie River - Middle Fork.
Near Mount Defiance Trail you locate good places like Melakwa Pass; if you came for an overnight stay Commonwealth Campground is a great location to camp. Some of the water nearby flows, like Thompson Creek, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Spider Creek. These mountains rock, just look at all the entertaining things to do in the Northern Cascade Range. There's a great forest near Mount Defiance Trail called North Bend Ranger District, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Pratt River.
