Washington hiking trails - Mink Lake Trail, Olympic Mountains, Clallam County       Every Washington wilderness hiking trail is worth backpacking. Trekking here in Washington is something that is always fun to do. Washington has so much to offer the wilderness lovers. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Mink Lake Trail. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while Mink Lake Trail overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 30's. Backcountry trails like this one here in the Olympic Mountains are the best way to enjoy these mountains. Mink Lake Trail is quite long,     so don't forget to pack enough supplies. The total elevation difference for Mink Lake Trail is 2,790 feet, and that is higher than average. You should count on this hike taking about 7 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Some parts of this hiking trail are much higher up than other parts of the hiking trail, and that means that some parts of the hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. The high level of rain makes Mink Lake Trail a pretty wet spot; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and July is when it's the driest. This backpacking trail has only one trailhead, so you'll be backpacking it in and back out. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. It's a long journey from Port Angeles to Mink Lake Trail, but   it is a really delightful backcountry trail. All the outdoors amusing stuff in the Olympic Mountains will keep you coming back again and again. Sol Duc Falls is a pretty spot to check out while you're at Mink Lake Trail, and you can run the rapids of Soleduck River. Blackwood Creek is right next door to Mink Lake Trail and is always a delight to take a look at, and get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Soleduck River - North Fork. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Mink Lake Trail. There's so much to do here at Mink Lake Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Soleduck Campground is a tremendous place for that. Mink Lake Trail is a spot with many visitors from Port Angeles, and why not take a little trip to Munden Creek if you're here.
