All through the warm months at Maple Mountain Trail highs are mostly in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Maple Mountain Trail. Being 7.8 miles long it's a
mid length walk. The time needed for this trek is roughly 7 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. It is very dried out here at Maple Mountain Trail commonly; the month with most of the snow is December while October is commonly the driest month.
Sometimes this backpacking and hiking trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire.
Briefly about the general area: Stay the night at Ferry Lake Campground, and of course Gardner Creek
flows through this region. This is such a great river. Sweat Creek Campground is a magnificent campground here, and a quick tour to Maple Creek is absolutely a pleasant idea.
