Washington hiking trails - Little River Trail, Olympic Mountains, Clallam County

   
  There are many great hiking trails in Washington, and one of these is Little River Trail in Clallam County. It's a lengthy trip from Port Angeles to Little River Trail, but when you spend some time backcountry hiking here you will feel like a whole new person. There are plenty of hiking trails in Washington; each one of them has its own unique splendor. This is a two-ended backpacking trail with two trailheads, so backcountry backpacking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. A visit to Washington is not complete without some hiking.
    Sometimes this hiking and backpacking trail gets really dry, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. These hiking and backpacking trails here in the Olympic Mountains are a very fine way to see these mountaintops.
Different parts of Little River Trail are at very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. The length of this hiking and backpacking trail is on the longer side having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough backcountry trail for advanced walkers looking for a fine challenge. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. Much rainfall falls at Little River Trail; most of the rain falls through December, and July is when it's the driest. Being  
15 miles long; it's considered a longer backcountry walk. The total elevation difference for Little River Trail is 5,188 feet, and that is higher than average. Of course, this is an overnight backcountry hike, 2 days normally, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. Now this hiking and backpacking trail is pretty long, so don't forget to pack enough supplies. This is one of many backcountry trails in the surrounding region. Summertime highs at Little River Trail ordinarily tend to be in the 70's while nighttime lows are frequently in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at Little River Trail. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, Little River Trail in Clallam County, Washington is just what you need. Trekking here in Washington never gets boring.

Briefly about the general area:
A magnificent place to camp here at Little River Trail is Welcome Inn Trailer Court/rv, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Elwha River. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Olympic Mountains. Some nearby water includes Cowen Creek, and Krause Bottom is a brilliant site here at Little River Trail.
You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Getting to South Branch Little River from Little River Trail is simple, and Grand Canyon is also a great location to look at. If you come at the right time of year, Elwha River offers some tremendous whitewater, and camping is available at Heart of the Hills Campground.
Put some time aside to spend at Winslow Spring since you're here at Little River Trail, and Cox Valley is right here at Little River Trail. So many amusing things in the Olympic Mountains, just tremendous. Do schedule some time to take a look at Ediz Hook near Little River Trail if you have a chance; of course, all our national parks are great places to pop by and Olympic National Park is no exception.
