Washington hiking trails - Little River Trail, Olympic Mountains, Clallam County

   
  There are backcountry trails all over Washington; Little River Trail in Clallam County is one of them. You'll have got to go far from Port Angeles to get to Little River Trail, but many people like to backcountry walk here to be close to the fresh air. A visit to Washington is not complete without some trekking. Now, this is roughly a 2-day trek, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. High temperatures at Little River Trail all through the warmest time of the year are in the 70's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
    Through the wintertime this location gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at Little River Trail dipping down into the 30's during winter nights. Little River Trail has two trailheads, so backcountry backpacking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. This
area does get very dry sometimes, so make sure you check current conditions and fire restrictions with local forest authorities before you head out. Every Washington backcountry trail is charming in its own way. The picturesque wilderness trails of the Olympic Mountains are a very delightful way to see these summits. Little River Trail sees pretty high levels of rain; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain; July on the other hand is the driest. This is a vicinity covered with lots of hiking and backpacking trails. And keep in mind that  
there could be temporary safety restrictions in location. When was the last time you got out in the fresh air a bit? if you happen to be in Clallam County of Washington, Little River Trail is a perfect local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Little River Trail has a total elevation difference of 5,188 feet which is a higher than average number. Being 15 miles long; it's longer than many wilderness trails. Different parts of Little River Trail are at very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the wilderness trail. The length of this wilderness trail is on the longer side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a good hiking and backpacking trail for experienced walkers in magnificent shape. Little River Trail is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Here in the magnificent state of Washington backpacking is something that is always fun to do.

Briefly about the general area:
This is such a wonderful river. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Olympic Mountains. If you come at the right time of year, Elwha River offers some magnificent whitewater; do schedule some time to visit Ediz Hook if you have a chance.
This river is a great place to visit. There are some delightful whitewater spots on Elwha River, and why not camp at Welcome Inn Trailer Court/rv if you're here at Little River Trail. Take a side journey to South Branch Little River, and a tour to Olympic National Park is worthwhile. All the outdoors enjoyable things in close proximity to Little River Trail will keep you coming back persistently. Do set aside some time for Krause Bottom since you're here at Little River Trail, and Grand Canyon is positively a great place to take a look at.
Yep, outdoors cool stuff truly is abundant here in the Olympic Mountains. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Winslow Spring, and you must undeniably dedicate some time to Cox Valley since you're here at Little River Trail. Cowen Creek is a splendid location to explore, and camping at Little River Trail is fine fun, Heart of the Hills Campground is a fine local campground.
