There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry walk it just one way. makes this a very tough great outdoors trail for advanced backcountry hikers looking for an outstanding challenge. You should count on this hike taking about 6 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. At parts of the year this area sees very little
rain, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. There are backcountry trails all over Washington, and Little Baldy Trail in Skamania County is one of them. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions
in place. This is just one of a large number of great outdoors trails in this area. The total elevation difference for Little Baldy Trail is 1,003 feet, and that is about average. Hiking here in the Northern Cascade Range is the best way to enjoy these hills. With its 7 miles of
walking distance it's an average length trail.
Briefly about the general area: Elk Meadows RV Park is a good campground nearby. So many entertaining things to do here in the Northern Cascade Range, too great to be true. In the event that you don't mind getting covered
with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on White Salmon River; needless to say, A journey to McIlroy Saddle is always fun. If you came for an overnight stay Ice Cave Campground is a magnificent site to camp, and it's a great idea to pop by Middle Fork Buck Creek.
