    the winter the highs are commonly in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Lake Trail plunge into the 10's. Of course, this is an overnight backcountry trek, 1.5 days normally, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. Gotta get out
of the city man, and Lake Trail in Lewis County, Washington is just what you need. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lake Trail a wet location; January is the month that gets the most snow; the driest month is July. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. The backpacking trails of the Northern Cascade Range are a great way to explore these summits. With its 10.8 miles of walking distance; it's a long great outdoors hiking trail. This hiking trail has only one trailhead, so you'll be backcountry hiking  
it in and back out. When you're here in Washington backpacking along one of its trails never gets boring. This backpacking trail is a very long backpacking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it an outstanding wilderness hiking trail for experienced backcountry walkers in great shape. This great outdoors hiking trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the great outdoors hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. This hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 1,640 feet, and that is about average. There are plenty of trails in Washington; each one of them is worth backpacking.

Briefly about the general area:
Pony Creek is a glorious local stream, and there's whitewater on Cowlitz River - Clear Fork for all you adrenaline kick people. A short trip to Fish Ladder Falls is always worthwhile; why not camp at Soda Springs Campground since you're here at Lake Trail.
If you want a delightful time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Cascade Range. Knuppenburg Lake Campground is a magnificent local campground. Nearby Carlton Pass is a delightful spot to go if you're at Lake Trail, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Allred Creek. Yep, outdoors cool things truly is abundant here in the Northern Cascade Range. A journey to Cortright Point close to Lake Trail is always a delightful idea, and there are some great whitewater spots on Summit Creek.
Having a fine time at Lake Trail is easy. Log Spring is a beautiful site to explore while you're at Lake Trail, and nearby you'll locate a wooded region called Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
