see these mountaintops. High temperatures at Lake Trail during the warmest time of the year are in the 60's, and the night is a tad colder of course, regularly in the 40's. Through the winter highs are regularly in the 30's with temperatures at Lake Trail dipping down into the
10's through winter nights. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lake Trail a wet location; most of the snow falls through January while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The length of Lake Trail is on the longer side having an average number of
uphill miles which makes this trail pleasant for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in spot.

Log Spring is always fun to check out, and whitewater paddling is wonderful on Cowlitz River - Clear Fork. Having a good time in the Northern Cascade Range is uncomplicated. A short trip to Fish Ladder Falls is always worthwhile, and why not camp at Knuppenburg Lake Campground
if you're here at Lake Trail. Not far from Lake Trail you locate Cortright Point, and in case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Summit Creek. in the neighborhood of Lake Trail you'll come across a wooded area called Gifford
Pinchot National Forest; why not take a little trip to Allred Creek since you're here. This is such a fun river. Getting to Pony Creek from Lake Trail is easy, and a magnificent place close by is Carlton Pass. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. A pleasant place to camp here at Lake Trail is Soda Springs Campground.
