There's not much difference in elevation along the wilderness hiking trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your backcountry walk. All through the days of summer, highs mostly are in the 70's at Lake Creek Trail; the overnight is slightly colder of course, commonly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Lake Creek Trail drop into the 30's. Rather far from Port Angeles you encounter Lake Creek Trail, but it is a brilliant sanctuary from the urban center. The total elevation difference for Lake Creek Trail is 557 feet which is lower than average. With its 4.4 miles of walking distance it's a mid length backcountry   walk. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lake Creek Trail a wet place; December is the month that gets the most rain while July is commonly the driest month. There are numerous hiking trails in Washington, and each one is scenic in its own way. Fine hiking trails in Washington are in abundance; Lake Creek Trail in Clallam County is one of them. This wilderness trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. The stunning backcountry hiking trails of the Olympic Mountains are the best way to enjoy these highlands. This is one of a very small number of backpacking and hiking trails in this neighborhood. This walk shouldn't take more than 4 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Briefly about the general area: Camping is available at Elmers Park. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Olympic Mountains. A good spot to camp here at Lake Creek Trail is Heart of the Hills Campground, and Elwha River is a perfect whitewater spot close by.
