Washington hiking trails - Lake Creek Trail, Olympic Mountains, Clallam County

   
  If you happen to be in Washington, why not go trekking, it is a perfect idea. Washington is a splendid site for outdoors folks. You'll have to go far from Port Angeles to get to Lake Creek Trail, but hiking is such an exciting thing to do, and this is a great place to do that. Time to get out, and breathe some fresh air, and Lake Creek Trail in Clallam County, Washington is the great outdoors at its best. Lake Creek Trail sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is commonly December, that's the one that rains the most,
    and July on the other hand is the driest. Even though this is not a very long backcountry hiking trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. This is one of a very small number of great outdoors trails in this neighborhood. The warmest time
of the year brings highs in the 70's to Lake Creek Trail. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Through the winter the highs are generally in the 40's while Lake Creek Trail night low temperatures during the winter are in the 30's. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Each hiking trail in Washington is well worth a backcountry walk. There are so many great hiking trails for trekking in Washington, and Lake Creek Trail is one of them, and it's in Clallam County. The hiking trails of the Olympic Mountains are a really  
splendid way to spend quality time in the fresh air. There's not much difference in elevation along Lake Creek Trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your hike. Sometimes this backcountry hiking trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. This trek shouldn't take more than 4 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Being 4.4 miles long it's a mid length hike. Lake Creek Trail has a total elevation difference of 557 feet, and that is lower than average. The length of this hiking trail is about average with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a nice great outdoors trail for the average person looking for a nice adventure. There is only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out walk.

Briefly about the general area:
If you came for an overnight stay Heart of the Hills Campground is a fine location to camp; you can take a little spree to Lake Dawn Dam if you're here at Lake Creek Trail. That right there is heaps of entertaining things already but it goes on, the Olympic Mountains has it all. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Elwha River, and if you have time to spare, Olympic National Park is a national park worth a visit.
Elmers Park is a good campground nearby.
