splendid way to spend quality time in the fresh air. There's not much difference in elevation along Lake Creek Trail, so you won’t have to worry about different climate zones along your hike. Sometimes this backcountry hiking trail gets really dry, so do check for current fire
restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. This trek shouldn't take more than 4 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Being 4.4 miles long it's a mid length hike. Lake Creek Trail has a total elevation difference
of 557 feet, and that is lower than average. The length of this hiking trail is about average with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a nice great outdoors trail for the average person looking for a nice adventure. There is only one trailhead, so you're looking
at an in and out walk.
Briefly about the general area: If you came for an overnight stay Heart of the Hills Campground is a fine location to camp; you can take a little spree to Lake Dawn Dam if you're here at Lake Creek Trail. That right there is heaps of entertaining
things already but it goes on, the Olympic Mountains has it all. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Elwha River, and if you have time to spare, Olympic National Park is a national park worth a visit. Elmers Park is a good campground nearby.
