Washington hiking trails - Kincaid Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Lewis County       Backcountry trekking in Washington never gets boring. You can't spend all your time indoors you need to get out once in a while, and if you happen to be in Lewis County of Washington, Kincaid Trail is a wonderful local hiking and backpacking trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Kincaid Trail being so far from the closest urban center, what a wonderful site for backcountry trekking it is. This hike should take you about 2 days, so it's a splendid thing if your backpack is big enough to do the job. There are so many wilderness trails in this area. Backpacking     trails like this one here in the Northern Cascade Range are a really magnificent way to spend quality time in nature. Kincaid Trail goes through some very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. Being 15 miles long; it's longer than many great outdoors trails. This part of Washington is always a joy to check out during backcountry hiking season. There are so many fine hiking trails for backpacking in Washington, and one of those is Kincaid Trail in Lewis County. There is only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out walk. Now this wilderness trail is pretty long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. All through the warm months, highs generally are in the 60's at Kincaid Trail, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Highs during the wintertime   are typically in the 30's; overnight lows during the wintertime for Kincaid Trail tend to be in the 10's. Kincaid Trail is a wilderness trail of magnificent length having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a perfect wilderness trail for experienced backcountry walkers in tremendous shape. Each hiking trail in Washington has something unique to offer. The total elevation difference for Kincaid Trail is 2,899 feet which is a higher than average number. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. All the water falling down from the sky makes Kincaid Trail a wet place; January is when you get the most snow here; July is when it's the driest. Briefly about the general area: Be careful coming to the Northern Cascade Range, you might not ever want to go back home again. Cedar Flats is a glorious place to stretch your legs a bit; Cortright Point is not far at all. Yeah, come up here to the Northern Cascade Range for a fine time. Cowlitz River - Clear Fork has a glorious whitewater paddling spot close by, and some close by water includes Allred Creek. While staying at Kincaid Trail you could always discover Carlton Pass; Gifford Pinchot National Forest is a fine local forest. Take a little journey to Pony Creek if you're here at Kincaid Trail, and you can stay the night at Soda Springs Campground. In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Summit Creek, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Fish Ladder Falls. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Kincaid Trail has to offer, you can camp at Knuppenburg Lake Campground, and a trip to Kincaid Trail wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Log Spring.
