Keenan Meadows Trail is positioned a relatively long tour from Ellensburg, but it is an exciting place to backcountry walk. Every single Washington wilderness trail has its own unique attractiveness. Wilderness hiking trails like this one here in the Northern Cascade Range are the best way to enjoy these highlands. Being 5.8 miles long it's a mid length backcountry walk. At Keenan Meadows Trail through the long summer days highs are in the 60's while night lows
    are frequently in the 40's. During the wintertime highs are frequently in the 20's with temperatures at Keenan Meadows Trail dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. A good deal of rainfall falls at Keenan Meadows Trail; through the month of January you get the most snow
around here, and July meanwhile is the driest month. Here in the brilliant state of Washington hiking is the brilliant thing to do. You spend the whole backcountry walk in roughly the same elevation zone, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole trail. Hey, time for a backcountry walk don’t you think? Keenan Meadows Trail in Klickitat County, Washington is just the place. There are not too many backcountry hiking trails in this neighborhood. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. Backpacking trails

The total elevation difference for this backpacking trail is 826 feet which is lower than average. This backcountry hiking trail is not that long but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. Keenan Meadows Trail is a normal length trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a perfect backcountry hiking trail for the average person looking for a perfect adventure. This is a two-ended backpacking trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can trek it just one way. This trek shouldn't take more than 5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.

Briefly about the general area:
Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Cle Elum River, and Keenan Meadows is a good place to check out. Squaw Rock Resort and RV Park is a nice local campground, and get your heart pumping on the brilliant whitewater of Rattlesnake Creek - Naches Tributary.
You just can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing things the Northern Cascade Range has to offer. Why not camp at Tamarack Spring Campground while you're here at Keenan Meadows Trail, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Ellensburg here. Man, is there a heap of entertaining things to do close to Keenan Meadows Trail. Rocky Saddle is a splendid site to spend some time at; Tripod Flat is a nice place.
