Washington hiking trails - Intake Trail, Blue Mountains, Columbia County

Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in the wilderness a bit, and Intake Trail in Columbia County, Washington is a really delightful spot to spend some time.     trails. This great outdoors trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the great outdoors trail could be very different from other parts of it. With its 12.6 miles of walking distance; it's considered a longer backcountry hike. This backcountry
hike should take you about 2 days, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. Intake Trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough great outdoors hiking trail for advanced hikers looking for a glorious challenge. High temperatures at Intake Trail through the months of summer are in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Intake Trail dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. This is a two-ended  
trail with two trailheads, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can hike it just one way. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. There are plenty of great outdoors trails in Washington; each one of them is well worth a walk. This trail has a total elevation difference of 1,578 feet, and that is about average. Intake Trail is a magnificent place of common rainfall; the wettest month of the year is frequently November, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is July. The backcountry hiking trails of the Blue Mountains are a really delightful way to spend quality time in the fresh air. This wilderness hiking trail sometimes gets very dry, so do check for current fire restrictions before you go if you plan to bring a stove or make a camp fire. This is a long wilderness hiking trail, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. Washington is a glorious location for backcountry walkers.

All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Blue Mountains will keep you coming back repeatedly. Don't forget to take a pleasant little tour to Deadman Creek, and the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Switchback Spring. Why not explore close by Green Fork while you're here at Intake Trail.
Camping at Bone Spring Campground is always a tremendous experience; don't leave Intake Trail without first paying a visit to Blakely Spring. This river is always fun. In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Grande Ronde River; camping is available at Timothy Spring Campground.
