Some parts of Huckleberry Trail are much higher up than other parts of the backcountry trail, and that means that some parts of the backcountry trail could be very different from other parts of it. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so if you can get a ride from someone, you can backcountry walk it just one way. Now this great outdoors hiking trail is pretty long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Huckleberry Trail is located a relatively long journey from Hood River, but if you're looking for a splendid place to go backpacking, this is a splendid choice. With its 8.8 miles of walking distance it's a mid length trek.   This is a neighborhood covered with lots of hiking and backpacking trails. This backcountry walk shouldn't take more than 8 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. For the period of the days of summer at Huckleberry Trail highs are usually in the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 40's; overnight lows in the 30's for Huckleberry Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Huckleberry Trail a wet place; December is the month that gets the most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. Be careful coming to the Northern Cascade Range, you might not ever want to go home again. If you come at the right time of year, Wind River offers some good whitewater; since you're here, you might as well stop by Warren Gap. Yeah, come here to Huckleberry Trail for a brilliant time. Huckleberry Trail is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Cascade Locks Koa Kampground is a nice local campground, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Panther Creek.
