  Backcountry hiking here in Washington is a magnificent idea. We all need to get out in the wilderness once in a while, and Hogback Trail in Yakima County, Washington is just what you need. There are so many glorious backcountry trails for backcountry backpacking in Washington; Hogback Trail in Yakima County is one of them. Some parts of Hogback Trail are much higher up than other parts of the hiking and backpacking trail which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the hiking and backpacking trail. The
    total elevation difference for this hiking and backpacking trail is 2,654 feet which is a higher than average number. Hogback Trail being so far from the most adjacent settlement, backcountry hiking it is glorious fun any time. All through the months of summer at Hogback Trail
temperatures are typically in the 60's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. All through the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 30's while Hogback Trail night low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 10's. There are numerous backcountry trails in Washington, and each one is well worth a walk. Hogback Trail ordinarily gets a great deal of rainfall; January is the wettest month with most snow, and July on the other hand is the driest. Of course, this is an overnight backcountry trek, 2.5 days normally, so better  
have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. There are so many backpacking and hiking trails in this region. Washington is a glorious outdoors state. Hogback Trail is 15.4 miles long; it's considered a longer hike. Now this great outdoors trail is pretty long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. This backcountry trail is a very long backcountry trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough backpacking and hiking trail for advanced backcountry walkers looking for an excellent challenge. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in site. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end, so backcountry hiking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. The backcountry trails of the Northern Cascade Range are a glorious way to explore these mountaintops.

Briefly about the general area:
Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! The Northern Cascade Range is excellent! Hogback Trail is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, White Pass Campground is a perfect local campground; get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of Summit Creek. This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. Visit North Fork Clear Creek while you're here at Hogback Trail, and taking a little visit to nearby Cortright Point is a good idea.
White Pass is a pleasant site to explore, and Indian Spring is a delightful local attraction. Now, you may think that's loads but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Tieton River - South Fork, and Blankenship Meadows is a pleasant spot to stretch your legs a bit. Camping at Knuppenburg Lake Campground is always a nice experience, and a pleasant tour to Tieton Meadows is a magnificent way to spend an afternoon.
Hidden Spring is always fun to check out; obviously South Fork Clear Creek is a striking stream that is worth a visit.
