Washington hiking trails - Highline Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Yakima County       Backcountry trekking here in Washington is something that is always fun to do. Washington has lots of outdoors things to do. A long drive separates Hood River from Highline Trail, but when you spend some time backcountry backpacking here you will feel like a whole new person. This wilderness trail goes through some very different elevations which of course means you need to be prepared for different conditions on different parts of the wilderness trail. A great deal of rain falls at Highline Trail; of all the months in a year December is the one with     the most rain; July is the month with the least moisture. This backcountry trek should take you about 2 days, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. This hiking and backpacking trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this wilderness hiking trail great for hard core backpackers looking for adventure. Highline Trail is 14 miles long; it's considered a longer hike. There is only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to trek it normally. Finally, backcountry backpacking time is here again, and Highline Trail in Yakima County, Washington is a brilliant location for getting out. The total elevation difference for this great outdoors hiking trail is 2,264 feet which is about average. For the period of the summer months highs here at Highline Trail reach the 70's. Summer nighttime   lows dip down to the 50's. Highs all through the winter are mostly in the 40's with temperatures at Highline Trail dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. There are trails all over Washington; one of those is Highline Trail in Yakima County. The hiking and backpacking trails of the Northern Cascade Range are an outstanding way to explore these peaks. Now this hiking trail is pretty long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Every Washington trail is different from the others. There are so many wilderness hiking trails in this region. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. Briefly about the general area: Cold Springs is a wonderful spot to have a look at while you're at Highline Trail, and if you're here at Highline Trail it's a good idea to visit Muddy Meadows. Whohoo, so much exciting stuff in one place! The Northern Cascade Range is unbeatable! Highline Trail is close to Avalanche Valley which is absolutely worth checking out, and there's whitewater on White Salmon River for all you thrill seekers. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. South Fork Spring Creek is a splendid local stream, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Cispus River. Camping at Killen Creek Campground is always a splendid experience, and do set aside some time for Foggy Flat if you're here at Highline Trail. Crooked Creek Falls is a perfect local attraction, and why not a little side trip to Crooked Creek. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors cool stuff the Northern Cascade Range has to offer. If you came to camp Cold Springs Campground is a tremendous place to do that.
