finish. This backcountry hiking trail is on the short side with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a perfect great outdoors trail for the average person looking for a perfect adventure. There are two trailheads to chose from, one in each end which means you have
| | the option of trekking it one way if you have someone to pick you up at the other end. Hicks Butte Trail sees pretty high levels of rain; January is the month that gets the most snow, and the driest month is July. Backcountry trekking here in the Northern Cascade Range is the best way to enjoy these summits. Being 2.8 miles long it's a shorter type backcountry walk. people. Throughout the warm months at Hicks Butte Trail temperatures are ordinarily in the 60's with nighttime lows in the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's while Hicks Butte Trail nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. Quite far from
Ellensburg you run into Hicks Butte Trail, but hiking it is splendid merriment any time. Even though this is not a very long trail it's always pleasant to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. You should count on this backcountry trek taking about 2.5
hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Hicks Butte Trail has a total elevation difference of 271 feet which is lower than average.
Briefly about the general area: Some nearby water includes Butte Creek, and Wish Poosh Campground is
a great local campground. Here at Hicks Butte Trail you'll almost certainly meet some people from Ellensburg, and soar down the rapids of Cle Elum River in a kayak. And if that's not enough there's a load more cool stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Take a little tour
to Disappointment Creek since you're here at Hicks Butte Trail, and why not camp at Trailer Corral while you're here at Hicks Butte Trail.
