Washington hiking trails - Goose Prairie Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Yakima County       It's a long tour from Ellensburg to Goose Prairie Trail, but it is a nice retreat from the urban center. There are so many perfect backcountry trails for backcountry trekking in Washington; one of them being Goose Prairie Trail in Yakima County. Goose Prairie Trail is 9.6 miles long; it's considered a longer trek. There are so many hiking and backpacking trails in this region. Hitting the hiking and backpacking trails is always an enjoyable thing to     do, and Goose Prairie Trail in Yakima County, Washington is a really good spot to spend some time. Throughout the warm days of summer here at Goose Prairie Trail, high temperatures generally reach the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 30's, and night lows at Goose Prairie Trail through the wintertime generally sink into the 20's. Goose Prairie Trail has a total elevation difference of 3,246 feet which is a higher than average number. Goose Prairie Trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a nice hiking and backpacking trail for experienced backcountry hikers in good shape. Keep in mind that this is a long trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. This part of Washington is always a delight to visit   during backpacking season. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. Each one of the many backcountry trails of Washington is beautiful in its own way. This wilderness hiking trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out backcountry trek. Hiking here in the Northern Cascade Range is the best way to enjoy these summits. The time needed for this backcountry walk is roughly 8.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Goose Prairie Trail goes through some very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. The high level of rainfall makes Goose Prairie Trail a relatively wet spot; the month of January is the wettest with most of the rain; July on the other hand is the driest. Briefly about the general area: Bumping Lake Dam is not far at all from Goose Prairie Trail, and a good spot to camp here at Goose Prairie Trail is Bumping Dam Campground. Whohoo, so many amusing things in one place! Goose Prairie Trail is unbeatable! There are some great whitewater spots on Bumping River. This is such a wonderful river. If you're here, you might as well stop at Pleasant Valley, and if you come at the right time of year, American River offers some magnificent whitewater. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool things the Northern Cascade Range has to offer. Don't forget to take a splendid little tour to Barton Creek; why not camp at Boat Landing Campground if you're here at Goose Prairie Trail. It's a great idea to stop by Deep Creek, it's in the neighborhood of Goose Prairie Trail, and Union Creek Falls is an inspiring site to pop by while you're here.
