Washington hiking trails - Goat Peak Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Kittitas County

   
  There are wilderness hiking trails all over Washington; one of them being Goat Peak Trail in Kittitas County. This part of Washington is always a bliss to pop by during trekking season. Goat Peak Trail is located a relatively lengthy trip from Ellensburg, but it's one of those spots where backpacking is great. The length of this backpacking and hiking trail is about average having an average number of uphill miles which makes this hiking trail delightful for the average backcountry trekker looking for an exciting adventure.     man, and Goat Peak Trail in Kittitas County, Washington is the outdoors at its best. This is not a very long trail but you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. With its 4.6 miles of walking distance it's a mid length backcountry hike. Goat
Peak Trail is a wet location that gets much rain; January is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is July. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in place. This is a two-ended backcountry trail with two trailheads, so backpacking it one way is an option if you can arrange for a ride back. Goat Peak Trail has a total elevation difference of 2,240 feet which is about average. This great outdoors trail goes through some very different elevations, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different  
elevations. There are plenty of wilderness hiking trails in Washington; each one of them has something unique to offer. There are so many hiking trails in this area. Throughout the months of summer at Goat Peak Trail highs are frequently in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Goat Peak Trail descend into the 20's. The gorgeous backpacking and hiking trails of the Northern Cascade Range are a magnificent way to explore these peaks. Backcountry hiking here in Washington is the wonderful thing to do. You should count on this walk taking about 4 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that.

Briefly about the general area:
Get your heart beating on the glorious whitewater of Little Naches River; it's a wonderful idea to take a look at Cole Creek. Don't forget to take a great little visit to Greek Creek, and R V Town is a pleasant local campground.
So many cool things to do in the Northern Cascade Range, not enough time. You can run the rapids of Box Canyon Creek right next door to Goat Peak Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Lake Easton Resort and Club is a pleasant place to camp.
