    spend some time. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, time to get out in the fresh air a bit, and Glacier Lake Trail in Lewis County, Washington is just what you need. Glacier Lake Trail gets lots of water; January is the wettest month with most snow while July is regularly the
driest month. Glacier Lake Trail is not that long but it's always great to bring some emergency supplies, you never know what could happen. Through the summertime months at Glacier Lake Trail temperatures are commonly in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Glacier Lake Trail are in the 20's. Glacier Lake Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole hiking and backpacking  
trail. There is only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to trek it normally. You should count on this hike taking about 3 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Glacier Lake Trail has a total elevation difference of 974 feet which is lower than average. All the outdoors amusing things in the Northern Cascade Range will keep you coming back persistently. A tremendous place to camp here at Glacier Lake Trail is River Bar Campground, and as expected Deception Creek flows through this area.
Johnson Creek is a wonderful whitewater spot next to Glacier Lake Trail, and camping is available at Packwood RV Park and Campground. In case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cowlitz River; there's some flowing water close by, Glacier Creek is a stream you can explore while here.
