Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Fawn Lake Trail drop into the 30's. Can’t wait to get out in the fresh air, Fawn Lake Trail in Cowlitz County, Washington is such an
outstanding place. Fawn Lake Trail sees pretty high levels of rain; December is when you get the most rain here, and July is the month with the least moisture. The number of hiking and backpacking trails in this region is not very high. This backcountry walk shouldn't take more
than 2.5 hours, but of course some people walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. And keep in mind that there could be temporary safety restrictions in site.
Briefly about the general area: So many cool things to do here in the Northern Cascade Range, too good to be
true. Why not camp at Roy's Motel and RV Park if you're here at Fawn Lake Trail, and don’t forget to explore Elk Prairie since you're here at Fawn Lake Trail. If you came for an overnight stay Merrill Lake Campground is a tremendous spot to camp; don't miss out on a spree to Mount Rainier National Park while you're here.
