Washington hiking trails - East Crater Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Skamania County

   
  When was the last time you got out in the outdoors a bit? East Crater Trail in Skamania County, Washington is just what you need. If you are in Washington during backpacking season you have to go backpacking. Every Washington backcountry trail has its own character. You'll need to go far from Hood River to get to East Crater Trail, but it's one of those places where backpacking is tremendous. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. This is a wilderness hiking trail that is quite long, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Of course,
    this is an overnight backcountry trek, 1.5 days normally, so better have big backpack to fit all the stuff you need. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to East Crater Trail. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 50's. Highs through the
wintertime are frequently in the 40's while East Crater Trail nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 30's. With its 11.2 miles of walking distance; it's considered a longer walk. This hiking and backpacking trail is many miles long having an average number of uphill miles which makes this a very tough hiking trail for advanced backcountry trekkers looking for a great challenge. Some parts of East Crater Trail are much higher up than other parts of the great outdoors hiking trail, and that means that some parts of the great outdoors  
hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. There are so many hiking trails in this area. East Crater Trail is a one trailhead trail, so you're looking at an in and out trek. The stunning hiking and backpacking trails of the Northern Cascade Range are the best way to enjoy these hills. Good backcountry trails in Washington are in abundance, and one of those is East Crater Trail in Skamania County. East Crater Trail has a total elevation difference of 1,609 feet, and that is about average. All the water falling down from the sky makes East Crater Trail a wet place; December is the wettest month with most rain, and July on the other hand is the driest. Backcountry trekking in Washington is an excellent way to spend some time.

Briefly about the general area:
Having a splendid time in the Northern Cascade Range is trouble-free. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Panther Creek, and do set aside some time for South Prairie if you're here at East Crater Trail. Camping at Forlorn Lakes Campground is always a wonderful experience, and don’t forget to visit Indian Heaven while you're here at East Crater Trail.
This river has so much to offer. Some of the water nearby flows, like Dry Creek; camping is available at Cultus Creek Campground. Any time is a delightful time at East Crater Trail if you love the outdoors. Looking for some flowing water? Try Spring Creek. Lost Creek Spring is an inspiring spot to have a look at while here; Lewis River - North Fork is a delightful whitewater spot nearby.
