Washington hiking trails - East Bank Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Whatcom County

   
  Because East Bank Trail is very far away from modern life, backcountry backpacking along this backcountry trail is very cool. Backcountry backpacking here in Washington is something that is always fun to do. Can’t wait to get out in the wilderness, East Bank Trail in Whatcom County, Washington is just the place. East Bank Trail is quite long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. For the duration of the summertime months at East Bank Trail highs are generally in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. High temperatures
    through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and night lows in the 20's for East Bank Trail. This trek should take you about 4.5 days, so make sure you've got all your overnight gear packed. Each backcountry trail in Washington is worth backcountry trekking. Being 30 miles
long; it's considered a longer walk. There's not much difference in elevation along East Bank Trail, so you get pretty much the same conditions along the whole backcountry hiking trail. The wilderness trails of the Northern Cascade Range are a wonderful way to explore these mountaintops. Washington has plenty of great backcountry trails, and among these are East Bank Trail in Whatcom County. This is just one of a large number of backpacking trails in this region. While visiting this region in Washington it's a wonderful idea to go hiking too. This wilderness trail  
is a very long wilderness trail with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough backpacking trail for advanced walkers looking for an excellent challenge. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. The total elevation difference for East Bank Trail is 1,028 feet which is about average. The high level of precipitation makes East Bank Trail a reasonably wet location; November is the month that gets the most rain while July is generally the driest month. There is only one trailhead, so you'll be trekking it in and back out.

And if that's not enough there's lots more entertaining stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. The trees of Okanogan National Forest are a splendid source of shade on hot summer days. You'll need more than a day to discover everything East Bank Trail has to offer, you can camp at Cougar Island Campground. So much fun stuff to do at East Bank Trail, so little time. Roland Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth taking a look at, and Hidden Hand Pass is a tremendous spot to spend some time.
Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Granite Creek; May Creek is in the vicinity of East Bank Trail and is always a diversion to check out. Stay the night at Rainbow Point Campground, and Butler Brown Flats is a great location. Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more cool things to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. Everybody loves McMillan Park, and while you're here you ought to take a look at Ruby Arm.
Lots of fun awaits you along this river. Gorge Creek Falls is a wonderful location to pop by while you're at East Bank Trail. This river is so great. Get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Canyon Creek - Skagit Tributary, and John Pierce Waterfall is always fun to check out.
