    before you go. Different parts of this backcountry trail are at very different elevations, and that means that some parts of the backcountry trail could be very different from other parts of it. We all need to get out in the outdoors once in a while, and Dewey Lake Trail in Yakima
County, Washington is the outdoors at its best. Dewey Lake Trail is many miles long with an average amount of climbing distance which makes this a very tough backcountry hiking trail for advanced walkers looking for a nice challenge. This is just one of a large number of backcountry hiking trails in this area. Being 12 miles long; it's a long backcountry trail. Dewey Lake Trail has a total elevation difference of 1,557 feet which is about average. There are backcountry hiking trails all over Washington; one of these is Dewey Lake Trail in Yakima County. All  
the water falling down from the sky makes Dewey Lake Trail a wet site; the month with most of the rain is January, and the driest month is July. This is a trail that is quite long, so do pack enough food to last the whole trip. For the period of the summer months at Dewey Lake Trail temperatures are usually in the 70's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's; nighttime lows through the wintertime for Dewey Lake Trail tend to be in the 20's. This backcountry trail has only one trailhead, so in and out is the way to walk it normally. Many miles from the most adjacent settlement you have Dewey Lake Trail, and it is a great hiking trail.

Briefly about the general area:
The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Union Creek Falls. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Dewey Lake Trail has to offer, you can camp at Lodgepole Campground. This is no site for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Get covered with water paddling on Chinook Creek, and get yourself into a kayak and hit American River.
So much entertaining stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range, not sufficient time. This location, the Northern Cascade Range, has so much outdoors entertaining things. Morse Creek flows through this neighborhood, and close by you locate Pickhandle Gap which is a brilliant spot to go to. At this river you will never have a bad time. Bullion Basin is a picturesque spot any time of year, and Dewey Lake Trail is a great place to camp, Morse Creek Campground is a great place.
A quick journey to Rainier Fork American River near Dewey Lake Trail is a great idea, and a pleasant journey to Pickhandle Basin is a splendid way to spend an afternoon.
