that this is a long backpacking and hiking trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. The time needed for this hike is roughly 6 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. The total elevation difference for Deer Lake Trail is 1,835 feet which is an average number. Every great outdoors trail in Washington has its own character. This backpacking and hiking trail has only one trailhead, so you're looking at an in and out walk. Some parts of this hiking trail are much higher up than other parts of the hiking trail, and  
that means that some parts of the hiking trail could be very different from other parts of it. Deer Lake Trail sees pretty high levels of precipitation; most of the rain falls through November while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Lyre River, and Sol Duc Falls is a great local attraction. There are some perfect whitewater spots on Soleduck River - North Fork, and Deer Lake Trail is not far at all from Port Angeles.
This place, Deer Lake Trail, it definitely has so much outdoors exciting stuff. There's so much to do here at Deer Lake Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Soleduck Campground is a good site for that; Bogachiel Park is a pretty place any time of year. Deer Lake Trail is great enough to spend more than a day at, Log Cabin Resort and Trailer is a great local campground, and a quick spree to Seven Lakes Creek is beyond doubt a good idea. You truly should fancy the Olympic Mountains.
These mountains rock, just explore all the entertaining things to do in the Olympic Mountains. It's a pleasant idea to check out Canyon Creek, it's right next door to Deer Lake Trail, and locations like Seven Lakes Basin are fine to have a look at.
