At Dark Meadows Trail through the days of summer highs are in the 60's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's; during the dark hours in the winter at Dark Meadows Trail temperatures sink to the 10's. This backcountry walk shouldn't take more than 4.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. This hiking and backpacking trail is a normal length hiking and backpacking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it an outstanding wilderness trail for the average person looking for an outstanding adventure. Briefly about the general area: You can run the rapids of Summit Creek in the neighborhood of Dark Meadows Trail. There's so much to do here at Dark Meadows Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Knuppenburg Lake Campground is a fine location for that, and a tremendous site to go to is White Pass. There's some flowing water nearby, North Fork Clear Creek is a stream you can check out while here. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Dark Meadows Trail has to offer, you can camp at White Pass Campground. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Northern Cascade Range. South Fork Clear Creek flows through this vicinity, and Cowlitz River - Clear Fork is a splendid whitewater spot close by.
