Washington hiking trails - Cougar Way, Northern Cascade Range, Skamania County       Washington has plenty of perfect hiking trails; Cougar Way in Skamania County is one of them. Each one of the many hiking trails of Washington has something unique to offer. When was the last time you got out in the outdoors a bit? if you happen to be in Skamania County of Washington, Cougar Way is a brilliant local trail for doing a bit of leg stretching. Keep in mind that this is a long hiking trail, so make sure you bring plenty of supplies. Cougar Way is not very close to Hood River at all, but if you're looking for a brilliant site to go backcountry hiking,     this is a brilliant choice. For the period of the days of summer at Cougar Way temperatures are frequently in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are typically in the 30's while Cougar Way overnight low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 20's. When you're here in Washington hiking along one of its hiking trails is a magnificent way to spend some time. Being 8.2 miles long it's a mid length backcountry hike. Backcountry hiking here in Washington is a must. This is a vicinity covered with lots of backcountry trails. Backcountry hiking here in the Northern Cascade Range is a really perfect way to spend quality time in the wilderness. Cougar Way is a one trailhead backcountry hiking trail, so in and out is the way to trek it normally. Some parts of Cougar   Way are much higher up than other parts of the trail, and that means that some parts of the trail could be very different from other parts of it. This backcountry hiking trail has a total elevation difference of 1,608 feet, and that is about average. This walk shouldn't take more than 7.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. Please follow all local rules about fires and camping. Cougar Way is a mid-length backcountry hiking trail having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a tremendous backcountry trail for experienced walkers in splendid shape. Cougar Way typically gets a good deal of rain; throughout the month of December you get the most snow around here, and the driest month is July. Briefly about the general area: Now, you may imagine that's a heap but there's even more exciting things to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. Lots of folks from Hood River come to Cougar Way; Big Trench is a stunning spot any time of year. A pleasant journey to South Prairie is a tremendous way to spend an afternoon; there are some brilliant whitewater spots on White Salmon River. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area close to Cougar Way has to offer. South Fork Berry Creek is a stream that you may run into while here. If you come at the right time of year, Little White Salmon River offers some good whitewater, and why not camp at Forlorn Lakes Campground while you're here at Cougar Way. North Fork Berry Creek flows through this area, and camping is available at Ice Cave Campground.
