Washington hiking trails - Cougar Way, Northern Cascade Range, Skamania County

   
  This part of Washington is always a pleasure to stop by during trekking season. Cougar Way is a long journey away from Hood River, but when you backcountry walk it you're always having a glorious time. There are numerous hiking and backpacking trails in Washington, and each one has its own unique loveliness. Backcountry hiking trails for hiking, and backpacking can be found all over Washington; one of them being Cougar Way in Skamania County. Being 8.2 miles long it's an average length great outdoors hiking trail. Some parts of Cougar Way are much higher
    up than other parts of the great outdoors hiking trail, so keep in mind that you may need to dress differently at different elevations. The total elevation difference for this great outdoors trail is 1,608 feet which is an average number. This is a hiking trail that is quite long,
so don't forget to pack enough supplies. This is one of many hiking trails in the surrounding area. You should count on this backcountry hike taking about 7.5 hours, but you never know stuff could go wrong and you could get stuck so be prepared for that. Going for a backcountry walk here in Washington is an excellent way to spend some time. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you go. Cougar Way is a wet spot that gets a good deal of precipitation; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow while  
July is ordinarily the driest month. Gotta get out of the settlement man, and Cougar Way in Skamania County, Washington is just what you need. This is a one trailhead great outdoors trail, so you'll be backcountry backpacking it in and back out. The length of Cougar Way is about average with an average amount of climbing distance which makes it a fine hiking trail for experienced backcountry trekkers in great shape. The wilderness trails of the Northern Cascade Range are a really fine way to spend quality time in the great outdoors. All through the warm months here at Cougar Way, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's with nighttime lows in the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Cougar Way.

Briefly about the general area:
Cougar Way is a good place to camp, Ice Cave Campground is a good place; in the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on White Salmon River. Everybody loves South Prairie; you can stay the night at Forlorn Lakes Campground.
If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. A great spot for whitewater paddling close to Cougar Way is Little White Salmon River; hey, North Fork Berry Creek is a good local stream. Yep, outdoors cool things to do are in fact bountiful here at Cougar Way. Big Trench is a perfect site here at Cougar Way. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Cascade Range. Lots of folks from Hood River come to Cougar Way, and why not a little side spree to South Fork Berry Creek.
