Washington hiking trails - Castle Mountain Trail, Northern Cascade Range, Pierce County

   
  Every single Washington backcountry trail is different from the others. Here in the great state of Washington hiking is an excellent way to spend some time. Castle Mountain Trail being so far from the least distant urban center, when you hike it you're always having a good time. There are not too many hiking trails in this neighborhood. This backpacking trail has a total elevation difference of 591 feet, and that is lower than average. Being 3 miles long it's a shorter type hike. Don’t forget to check for any current restrictions or closures before you
    go. Castle Mountain Trail regularly gets much precipitation; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July. Spending too much time indoors got you down? No problem, Castle Mountain Trail in Pierce County, Washington
is just the site. Castle Mountain Trail is on the short side having an average number of uphill miles which makes it a wonderful hiking trail for the average person looking for a wonderful adventure. There is only one trailhead, so you'll be backcountry hiking it in and back out. The time needed for this hike is roughly 2.5 hours, but of course some folks walk a bit slower and some a bit faster. With so many outdoors activities available in Washington you'll never get bored. For the duration of the summer months, highs typically are in the 70's at Castle  
Mountain Trail. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows through the winter for Castle Mountain Trail tend to be in the 20's. Even though this is not a very long backcountry hiking trail you should still bring some emergency supplies just in case something happens. Castle Mountain Trail stays roughly within the same elevation zone the whole time which means the conditions are about the same from start to finish. The trails of the Northern Cascade Range are a wonderful way to explore these mountains. There are backcountry trails all over Washington, and one of those is Castle Mountain Trail in Pierce County.

But wait, there's more entertaining things to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Corral Pass is a fine spot to stop by next to Castle Mountain Trail; if you came to camp Morse Creek Campground is a good site to do that. White River is a good whitewater spot next to Castle Mountain Trail.
There's so much to do here at Castle Mountain Trail that you need to camp here for a while, Dry Creek Campground is a great site for that, and swing by Hardwood Creek it's a magnificent site to visit.
